~ Lovely Is The One That Sleeps ~
Underneath the lovely black walnut tree
Lies a lonely tomb made out of stone
Its mossy door; velvet green
Is thy bed to autumn’s fallen leaves
In faded hues of lavender, they sink into eternity
This tomb, it’s stone from Assus in the Troad; desires you
Yet its reach does not touch, for your violet colored charm
Keeps the stone’s poison far,
While keeping its queen unharmed
In an enchanted brilliant room
Lovely is the one that sleeps
Deep beneath the black walnut tree
Within a crystal chamber keep
Silently she dreams of violet ametrine
Bequeathed to her by a brave conquistador
What power does this stone of purple hue possess?
Your skin so white and pure; unscathed by time and yet there is no breath?
You lie upon a bed of purple silk in a sea of crystal stars
Your beauty, oh so lucid in the sparkle of diamonds and of amethyst
In this grotto filled of purple, violet, and of gold with diamond brocaded walls.
Your tresses like the sun, fall upon your breast
With every wave and roll, embrace your lovely tender frame
Down to your hands they rest where beads of amethyst
Make a band around your wedding hand
Is this what keeps your beauty well preserved?
When you had walked upon the earth
You had possession of a charm of violet stone
It was to protect and keep you far from death
But now you quietly lie with all your beauty still
And I ask “Is this of what was asked; of the charm – to have your loveliness and not your life?”
I think the spirit that once was you
Now lives within these chamber walls of intense purple, violet hues
And with every sparkle and twinkle of these radiant ornaments
Flames of ruby red burst sporadically and caress upon your cheeks and lips
And In the stillness of your solitary beauty - rest
Lovely is the one that sleeps
Deep beneath the black walnut tree
Within her crystal chamber keep
Silently she dreams of her brave conquistador
Who gave her charms of violet amethyst

Is this piece of art by your home? It seems very large? What date does it have on it? Amazing and seems relatively recent?
The photograph was taken by "Frame of mind" and posted on Flickr. I believe the statue is somewhere in Connecticut U.S. No idea how old it is but it is sure a beautiful sculpture! As for its age I would guess it is from the forties?
