Dreams of Illusions

What if time and eternity were one?
A world in dream… an everlasting sleep

My own magnificent obsession
Of a hundred light years drowned in an
Unfathomable beautiful rapture

And in my slumber bed
I’d sleep an everlasting dream
In a world of yearned desires
Of this gullible heart of mine

Would I think then…this to be reality?

Oh no … not yet.
Too short a dream to end

My comfort in this warmth and sleep
Must never cease

Then my poor heart feels the
Wounds of loss endured
And my dream once more

Comes to a crushing end

Did my eyes deceive?
What my mind had deemed!
Then this life I had subsist
Was only an illusion of my dreams?

Hi Annabelle,
I love your poem, and the image you chose to go with it.
I do wonder sometimes if life is but a dream.

Again, amazing writing Annabelle.
My vision of life is that what we make of it, is. And I believe a lot of everything, every theory.
I love the Toltec, they thought/think that life is entirely the dream. (The Four Agreements, incase you don't know. By Don Miguel Ruiz.)
Thank you for your awesome words.

Twilight at Sea

The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.
