CHARLTON HESTON ~THE OMEGA MAN ~The True Renaissance Man

October4 1923 ~April 5th 2008
Silently one by one all of my childhood actors I enjoyed are departing this world; I’m beginning to feel very, very old.

I found this on Youtube this evening… courtesy of http://www.youtube.com/user/justel50 who graciously has shared the film score to “The Omega Man” movie with us. Thanks!

Heston gave a videotaped Farewell Speech in 2002
Of his affliction with Alzheimer’s disease

"For an actor, there is no greater loss than the loss of his audience," Heston said "I can part the Red Sea, but I can't part with you, which is why I won't exclude you from this stage in my life.

"For now, I'm not changing anything. I'll insist on work when I can; the doctors will insist on rest when I must.
"If you see a little less spring to my step, if your name fails to leap to my lips, you'll know why. And if I tell you a funny story for the second time, please laugh anyway."
At the end of it he quoted from Prospero from William Shakespeare's "The Tempest":
"We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep."

We bid you farewell.

Twilight at Sea

The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.
