~ A Christmas Rose ~
After taking this picture of course I had to alter it again. While I was cleaning my studio I cam across tiny marquisette butterfly earrings belonging to my daughter and added them to the rose. I'll post the new picture later.
First saw this rose on "Miz Smoochie Lips" a few years back, then saw Lynn 's from "Sea Angels" all done in paper,and once again from "Calamity Kim" made with paper,fabric and tulle and of course "Mommy Makes Roses" as seen on Martha Stewart. I made a few roses to adorn my Christmas gifts.
This is an altered rose made out of an old paper rose,then I added German glass glitter, old lace, a poem on a vintage music sheet. They are beautiful and so romantic placed on the Christmas tree or adorning wreaths,garlands,as a brooch,on gifts like I have done or just pinning it to something you like and enjoying it year round.
At the moment I am cleaning house since I was ill for the past week with the flew and feeling quite blue with the passing of our dear Elly. Very hard at times to get into the spirit of things when some things seem so much more important to one's life. Slowly,very slowly we are coming back to feeling the cheerful Spirit of Christmas.

~ Turn of the Screw ~
WE WERE SOLDIERS
Twilight at Sea
The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Elly. Hoping you find some peace and happiness for the holiday season.
This rose is just lovely.
Blessings,
Doreen
IT WAS EASY TO SEE THAT ELLY WAS MUCH LOVED AND CARED FOR. SHE WAS SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE CHOSEN YOU TO LOVE. YOU CERTAINLY DID NOT DISAPPOINT HER CHOICE AND NOW SHE WILL LIVE ON IN YOUR HEART.
