***** Purrrfect Halloween Haunts *****

Happy Halloween

We will begin our haunting here in my home......For the past few weeks pumpkins were following me everywhere I went and when I came upon the Booutiful glass mosaic one at Homesense...about the size of my footstool all I thought about was how lovely it would be to have one, place it on four old rusty wheels and turn it into a pumpkin carriage but then this week I came across the actual Cinderella Pumpkins nurseries grow and after googling how to craft this particular kind of pumpkin the “Hallmark Carriage” came up.So here is my version .....

I cheated a bit for the pumpkin turned out to be a tad too heavy for the dowel axles they said to use so I improvised and used a wooden salad bowl to prop the pumpkin on and then just set the Turkish caps on the dowels and arranged them to look as if they are attached. As for the windows I was clean out of buckles and door pulls so I used antique frames I bought in Merrickville. For the top of the pumpkin I used a curtain finial and covered it loosely with Ferrero Rocher chocolate gold wrappers; who doesn't collect the wrappers for crafting. A chocolate I adore and a wrapper for sooo many crafting uses … an essential in my crafting cabinet!!!

Here you will find the instructions for Cinderella's Carriage.

***** A Witch's Study ***** A place where I spend quite a bit of time in

*** A Witch's Study 1313 ***
My hat...a Witch's hat I bought at Walmart and eventually covered it with an old black velvet dress I wore to my husband's Century party for Domtar before the plant closed. I was going to donate it or cut it up but I changed my mind and it now remains intact...a purrrfect fit for a Witch's Hat lampshade.

***** Boo *****

*** BOO ***

An inspiration devired from the movie "Black Christmas"...where Billy is hiding in the closet, Halloween and the book and movie "To Kill a Mockingbird".."Boo Radley"..my favorite novel.I bought this frame this past Spring at a church sale and when I went to add a picture inside I noticed the hole in the wood backing and thought it was better left uncovered and used for something creative...surprisenly I'm not spooked by it! It rests above my desk in my study.

***** Little Hoot *****

*** Little Hoot ***
*** The Haunted Tree ***

A small little salt shaker I bought a very long time ago. She looks quite cute in her Witch's hat.

*** Vintage Owl Light ***
Not in my favorite color but the novelty of the light and being an owl I couldn't pass this little magical fellow up. I adore Owls! Thinking of altering....just don't know what element I'll use.

*** Spooky NIght ***

My daughter Em decorated the fireplace this year and decided to use black tulle, orange lights and my vintage owl lamp.I like him more in the dark since I'm not too fond of his exterior finish. Still debating how to alter him.

And now ....are you ready for a Haunting????
Then step thru this door and come see what I have found....

p.s. working on creating an actual door for next time.....Hehehe!Later...

Twilight at Sea

The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.
