EYES

"Missed the last train home.
Birds pass by to tell me I'm not alone.
Well, I'm pushing myself to finish this part,
Can handle a lot,
But one thing I'm missing .....is in your eyes."

"How did it get so late so soon?"........I know, it was the bloody sugar!!!

This past week has been total confusion and disorder, a brain all fogged up and not from the shower.
I am totally fed up with the number of pills I need to take to keep the diabetes in check.
I noticed all of my aches and pains surfaced when I began taking them and so I did a little experiment and didn't take them for a few days, the aches disappeared but the sugars went up. I know my doctor will not be happy with my little investigation but then again I needed to know what was causing the sharp needle pains since all of my other test results were negative.So now it's back to see her and find an alternative route or even better stop eating the stuff I love : )
Needless to say I didn't do much of anything and I wasn't going to post today but then I thought I could share this digital/sketch I did quite a while back. It's a self portrait in caricature. The butterflies and birds , spider webs and spider, the roses and stars ,the old laces and the Pisces sign all describe me. As for the crown , I'm not sure!
I think I will keep this weekend nice and quiet , go on a few walks with the kids and the dog and pick a few pussy willows, always a tradition at this time of year. Maybe the fresh air will entice me to get back on track with the eyes "COME A LITTLE CLOSER". Haven't come up with a name for the series but I can work on that too.
So that's it for now. Take care and enjoy the holiday!

p.s. I'm not sure who left the comment about the light font but your right, I will get to it in time, thanks for the heads up.

Hi Annabelle. Love your piece and all you've added to it. The eyes are awesome. I just finished a 15 page journal on just eyes alone. Your eyes are better:) I take two capsules of cinnamon daily to help keep my sugar down. My levels were going up and my doctor wanted me to take a prescription to keep the levels down. I didn't fill the rx because I too wanted to try something else. I was reading up on cinnamon and it's uses for keeping sugar levels down and I tried it. When I went back to my yearly, he was surprised that my sugar levels had gone down almost to normal. He said, "I see you are taking your prescription and your sugar levels are down." I said no doctor, I've been taking 2 capsules of cinnamon daily since I last saw you. He seemed surprised and said he had read about it. It may not work for all but it helped me. I'm not a doctor and I'm just sharing this with you. I couldn't find the original piece on where I did my research but this one link explains what I'm talking about.
I hope you feel better and Happy Easter and all. Take care. Link below.

GORGEOUS painting!!! Those eyes....
I wish you all the best in finding a way to control your diabetes without prescription side effects or complications. It's good you are paying attention to your body and its reactions.

Hi Annabelle. First your art is wonderful. Now listen to Gloria the Cinnamon really does work. Especially if you are not on insulin. Eat healthy and exercise everyday. Diabetes is nothing to mess around with. I have one brother who has passed due to diabetes and one brother who can't survive without an insulin pump. You will feel so much better if you take control.
Happy Easter

Hi Abbabelle, I am sorry to hear of your health struggles. I've had to totally change my diet because of blood sugar levels. It was torturous but am glad that I persevered because of the results. I know the struggle. Take care and best to you. Lovely art this week. xo ~~irene

Loving the 'likeness' but not your troubles. I found medication put me in a fog and made me hurt (muscles). It was a Statin drug, totally unnecessary. I sincerely hope you are able to straighten yours out, it is more necessary than mine. Blessings, Janet PPF

First of all I love your art piece. The butterflies really finish off your cute little lady. Second of all, I hope you can get your diabetes under control without all this torture. Doctors never like anything other than their own advice and you really have to listen to them BUT also listen to yourself. My advice for what its worth. Happy Easter to you too.

Twilight at Sea

The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.
