Close Encounters?

Perhaps home is where the heart is....

My daughter Emma was playing a tune the other night on her new laptop and I immediately recognized the song that she was listening to. I told her how as a young girl when I was dating her dad had very much liked it but had no idea to its title or for that matter its words.
Emma was glad to hear I knew of the song hoping I would be able to help her track down the version she had first heard in a movie. She had no idea to the movie’s title but remembered the story line and thought that the main character’s name started with an M. She expressed how she had liked the other version so much more and really wanted to find it.
And so, I loving treasure hunts I set out on a mission to find her movie and the artists that sang this song. What I didn’t anticipate was the events that followed.

Once again I found myself reading a lovely blog but expressing sadness and end.
With no aim at altering this person’s mind I told them of my plight and how there are so many alike us; so alone, sad and often at times at a wits end. Maybe my words were taken.... maybe not . And so I continued with my search again getting a surprise that I least expected. I found this quiet fellow obscure in space deciphering the song and his take on what it had to say.
I understood what he said and completely agreed to his understanding of the song. Again there is other ways to take the message of the song but all in all it suppose to make one feel good, which it has done for me.

How strange of such an occurrence as this. Was this really happening to me? Was it supposed to mean something? I know the web is so intricate and detailed and doesn’t seem to miss a thing. Everything is intertwined like a web; the web of life. With that being said it shouldn’t come as a surprise when these things happen but to say the least; I came across a beautiful soul who believes the answer is the next chapter and a servant of God. What am I suppose to think. I really do know that whoever reads this probably thinks I’m off my rocker but really I’m not. You could say I’m just the superstitious kind and one who likes to read into things ....sometimes too much so!!! Did these close encounters have a purpose for all involved? I think at this point I might frighten some people away with this question but I do believe there are greater forces out there!

As for finding the movie I was successful yesterday at locating it. The movie that was responsible for my daughter falling in love with this song and the song that had a mother reminiscing her past, maybe… just maybe giving hope to whoever came across its lyrics and maybe even finding some answers to my quandaries. The movie which featured the song “I’ll Find My Way Home” was called: “The Challengers”. I found the song belonged to an artist by the name of Vangelis. Yes, I remember hearing of his name but never followed him or Jon Anderson….a mistake on my part.

The movie was a collaboration between the Canadians and Americans. "It’s about a young girl who after her father dies moves to a new town. Mackie [m] wants to join a certain band. But they've got this boys-only rule. So Mackie comes up with an audacious plan...only it begins to backfire.”
Unfortunately we haven’t found the artist that sings the song in the movie but I may have found something more dearly;I may have found my way home.

I'll Find My Way Home ~Vangelis~

You ask me where to begin
Am I so lost in my sin
You ask me where did I fall
Ill say I cant tell you when
But if my spirit is lost
How will I find what is near
Dont question Im not alone
Somehow Ill find my way home

My sun shall rise in the east
So shall my heart be at peace
And if youre asking me when
Ill say it starts at the end
You know your will to be free
Is matched with love secretly
And talk will alter your prayer
Somehow youll find you are there.

Your friend is close by your side
And speaks in far ancient tongue
A seasons wish will come true
All seasons begin with you
One world we all come from
One world we melt into one

Just hold my hand and were there
Somehow were going somewhere
Somehow were going somewhere

[interlude]

You ask me where to begin
Am I so lost in my sin
You ask me where did I fall
Ill say I cant tell you when
But if my spirit is strong
I know it cant be long
No questions Im not alone
Somehow Ill find my way home

Somehow Ill find my way home
Somehow Ill find my way home
Somehow Ill find my way home

This is the analysis of the song "I'll Find My Way Home" by this priest from Manchester England:
“Do you hear what I hear? Everything is in there.... grace, an Orthodox understanding of sin, the companionship of Christ, the presence of brothers and sisters on the journey (the Church) and the goal / home which is union with God. Perhaps we should listen more to what is being said in the culture; the heartfelt cry of those who, with us, are seeking. May we all find our way home. Amen.”http://antiochabouna.blogspot.com/

I don't remember the film, so I'm not familiar with the song. It's strange how the words of a song can capture our imagination isn't it..?

Beautiful writing! One line in the song..." if my Spirit is lost"...
I believe our Spirit goes into hiding but ~never lost.~ I have experienced my Spirit going into hiding while I was going through my cancer journey and then when she was ready with a giggle and a flutter she came out from hiding!

Twilight at Sea

The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.
