"What shall I sing to my lord from the window?
What shall I sing, for my lord will not stay?
What shall I sing, for my lord will not listen?
Where shall I go, for my lord is away?

Whom shall I love when the moon is arisen?
Gone is my lord, and the grave is his prison.

What shall I say when my lord comes a -calling?
What shall I say when he knocks on my door?

What shall I say when his feet enter softly,
Leaving the marks of his grave on my floor?

Enter my lord, come from your prison.
Come from your grave, for the moon is arisen." {Master Miles}

What a nice surprise to see my roses in your mosaic! I painted those in full color, I edited them into sepia and really like that look better.

I hope you don't mind if I use this beautiful mosaic as cover art for a mix CD I'm making for a (private and nonprofit) mix trading club. If not I'd like to credit you and link back to you on my blog. I'll be crushed if you say no.

I don't mind at all but the indiviual pictures belong to other Flickr members.If they don't mind then I guess you are welcome to the mosaic and give credit.

Just a note...

The rules of Flickr say...
each picture that is used from the site - must LINK back to the owners flickr account. This is for protection against "lifting" of pictures - and those who would use them for their own use without giving credit to the owners - or first retaining permission to use them.

I am getting ready to write an article about the "proper way to use pictures & content that belongs to others on your blog" Perhpas something like that would help people who want to use something - but are not sure how to go about it.

Hope this helps...
Pearl

Hi Pearl,
Thanks for taking the initiative. Very much appreciated and want everybody to be happy. I still use other Flickr member’s photos from time to time and I'll make sure it's okay with them. In the meanwhile, I'm trying to get better with my new camera and take some of my own. Jeff , {Sgt Howie} answered back and is checking with each and everyone of you to get permission. Here is the convo that went on between the two of us. Hope this clears things up.

Great, much appreciated! I'll drop them all emails and hopefully they'll all agree as well. I'll be sure to drop you a line when I post my mix.

Many thanks,
Jeff

Hi Howie,

Yes, you can use it but make sure it's okay with the other Flickr members. The mosaic is mine but the pictures belong to them so I think it would be proper to ask them before so no one gets upset. Thanks and hope everything goes well.

WE WERE SOLDIERS

WE WERE SOLDIERS

Twilight at Sea

The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.
