Inspired Treasures ***** more tiny books and spiders to follow in the coming weeks.
This little spider is made of old crystals I collected from old vintage jewels. I used copper foil and soldered the legs and eyes. A little patience was required to assemble the little fellow but it was all worth it in the end. I have seen spider's webs done in stain glass as well and would like to try one this coming spring when I can take my work outside into the garage where I have more natural light. At the moment my studio doesn't accommodate the stain glass workshop.Spidey here was little enought to work in my studio since no glass cutting was required.
Still working on some of these tiny little books....there are so magical and make me think of Bilbo and Fairies.
More treasure chests are in the works and although I have a lending towards the ancient fossils I am going to make some jeweled ones as well.Will be exciting to see the end results.

~ Turn of the Screw ~
WE WERE SOLDIERS
Twilight at Sea
The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.
