~ Romancing the Vampire ~

Well, I think I have finally charmed my daughter to giving it a whirl at selling her art on Etsy. She has made me three blog banners so far and working on one for me. It would be lovely when she makes a sale but for the time being she is exploring her gift of arresting inner visions that I can’t begin to imagine. She seriously surprises me every time;you're quite a unique girl my dear Emma.

Sweet Sleep my Elly

"We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep."

A few more digital drawings of our Elly done by my daughter Emma.

Elly was brought home in the early spring of 2001. He was a garage sale cat that we got for free and he even came with papers and shots.

Finding a way to ease the pain...art...Emma's drawings of Elliot

Even from the start Elly was Em's baby...nothing wrong with sharing baby clothes right?

A soft white pillow for Grace, it even came warm....and she loved ...

Bella ...Di Notte..." Twilight "

Edward may have whispered this poem to Bella as he watched her sleep....

My daughter Emma who just turned sixteen is the artist responsible for the digital design that accompanies my "Twilight" inspired poem. She incorporated a picture of Bella and Edward embracing behind a divide of rain enhanced by the Four o’ clock flower {Bella Di Notte} of Midsummer bloom, with their sweet fragrance, and timely awakening at Twilight. I really like what she did and fits well with my poem.

I thought it might just be the right time to repost an older post I wrote in admiration for "Twilight" the vampire love story of Edward and Bella.
This is the week .....are you going?

I confess, I will never grow old in mind, for it holds dear all of the cherished memories I have always loved and enjoyed in my life. Vampire stories have been always a big part of me; actually I have always been obsessed by them, as a result they are reflected in my art. I love dark subdued colors. I adore the rain and lushness of the grass and trees and how fragrant and striking flowers can be, especially behind a lense. One of my favorite colors is black; I could never throw it away. It holds a secret place in my heart.

From the very beginning, Bella Legosi and Vincent Price were favorites, the Hammer films starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. All of the props, gorgeous costumes and enchanting mysterious castles and manors in settings that I could never have possibly imagined just took me in and I was captivated for the duration of the film, once ended, my mind filled with ideas. And again, in most cases they would take place in England.

So, why I have entered into this sphere is because of “Twilight”, the Stephenie Meyer’s novels so many are gibbering about and with good reason, but I wouldn’t go into it,for there is a wealth of information from so many sources out there built by adoring fans.I,myself have found it engaging to the point that it has given me inspiration to write as well as creating my art. I can’t believe all of the tremendous creativity that is out there particularly from a very young group who have, like me been inspired by Stephenie Meyer’s novel. The writing, art, unveiling of directorial talent and acting from around the world is amazing. Meyer has, from what I have seen; consummated a gathering of promising talent and that is a very good thing to come out from a book.

My daughter, who is fifteen, is one of the promising talents I speak of and she is the artist responsible for the background design of my poem. She incorporated a picture of Bella and Edward embracing behind a divide of rain enhanced by the Four o’ clock flower {Bella Di Notte} of Midsummer bloom, with their sweet fragrance, and timely awakening at Twilight. I really like what she did and fits well with my poem.

I have existing proof of this creative occurrence inspired by “Twilght” that is taking place, right here in front of me.
At the moment, Em is absorbed in another thought…I’ll just have to wait and see!

~Where Have You Gone To My Lovely~

Enduring love, originally uploaded by IrenaS.

Where have you gone to…. my lovely
So far and away from the world?
Is it not so
Your beauty and youth
Were just beginning to gently unfurl

The trees that surround you
Tell the story so well
Shed of their leaves from sorrow so vast
Stand naked and dark against a fading sky of golden glass

Space… oh so still and serene
A park of unbroken love and broken dreams
Affirmed by the monuments that
Stand silent and so strikingly seen

I quietly walk past the stones
That rise from the depths of the earth
And look for the one that
Lies on the bed made of marble and stone
With a heart in the folds of her dress

I stand here above you
In this forest that travels to no infinity's end
and place my cold kiss upon your head

Always have loved you
From the dawn of your birth
To the dusk of your death
Now even more
In this everlasting still life that’s been tenderly cast

~Annabelle~

N.B. I didn't forget to complete "The Secret Door". I only got side tracked....couldn't help it. I have such any easier time writing about melancholy glum.It obviously helps a tad in writing these sad words when I’ve been terribly sick and unable to even get out of bed. In waves of sickness I tried to post yesterday and read my fav blogs but to no avail; not to mention I was having trouble remembering passwords. The long two day sleep helped lots and my husband was summoned to come home early. My son ended up taking the day off school to take care of me and the dog so in all everything combined helped in my recovering a little sooner that I anticipated; still not so well thou .Next .... “ The Secret Door”.

Twilight at Sea

The Twilight Hours like birds flew by,
As lightly and as free;
Ten thousand stars were in the sky,
Ten Thousand on the sea;
For every wave with dimpled face,
That leaped upon the air,
Had caught a star in its embrace,
And held it trembling there.
